Papelillo Avocado (Box of 10 units)

The National University of Colombia has successfully created a new variety of avocados called Papelillo or Lorena. This avocado variety has a longer shelf life, and its properties do not deteriorate over time. The fruit is quite large compared to other oval-shaped types, with an average weight of 400 to 700 grams. It is a fruit of shiny, smooth skin with a slightly coriaceous texture. Its harvesting season is from January to March, and it is harvested only once a year. It has high adaptability in warm, medium and cold climates. It has the highest number of characteristics that the consumer looks for in the avocado fruit. Its fat content is 9%. It is green in colour. Its seed is of medium size, oval, and symmetrical with medium adherence to the pulp. As the plants grow older, the fruit decreases in size. The fruit has yellow or orange-coloured flesh as it ripens. In the centre, there is a reddish-coloured cell containing a large number of seeds. These seeds are small, rounded and black.
