Rambutan (Nephelium lappaceum) is a small fruit native to Malaysia. It has a hairy appearance, as its skin is covered with spines that turn reddish when the fruit is ripe. The edible part is on the inside, oval in shape and slightly translucent whitish in colour. It has a fresh, juicy, and slightly acidic taste. The seed behind the pulp is not edible, as it is poisonous.
